Before the screaming ended, Gunther Fett found the falling stopped and himself standing on solid ground, though it was a little uneven, and the air was gloomy and dull with a fishy smell.

‘Eyesight (X): Visual acuity raised to the upper limit’

Through this GIFT, Gunther Fett was able to see light belonging to the infrared spectrum and catch the faintest luminosity. He chose this GIFT based on personal experiences. It had been too many times that he woke up and found himself in a totally dark and completely strange location. Also thanks to this, he did not panic and used ‘Eyesight (X)’ to observe the surroundings carefully instead.

He found that the place seemed to be a huge cave, but he couldn’t see the ceiling nor borders even with ‘Eyesight (X)’. While hesitating, he noticed something moving not far ahead.

Gunther Fett raised his guard and faced the direction where there was movement, and then he saw two thin red lines appear in the darkness, and then the thin lines opened into a pair of blood-red eyes. Soon he found these belonging to a huge snake, which was slowly raising its head while staring at him.

Then a voice appeared in his head, “hiss...a human? ...How could hiss be? Here can not be...hiss...anyone other than me...hiss…What’s hiss exactly...?”

This is quite a bizarre and horrible situation, eve to Gunther Fett. However, instead of being terrified, He had a strange sense of familiarity. Such feelings seemed to be mutual, since the huge snake tried to observe him instead of swallowing him in a single gulp.

Gunther Fett did not know how to respond, but did know something very very bad would happen if he didn’t give a good answer. While he was still on the fence, a voice appeared in his mind: "Big bro, allow me to try, would you? As the saying goes, two heads are better than one, let me probe him first so you may have some references. How’d you say?"

‘Communication (X): converse with each other through speech centers’

This GIFT allowed Gunther Fett to understand the words of the monster precisely. It was acquired by the character named 'Chatterley', who really likes to chat. Without it, he would only hear hisses like anybody else. Gunther Fett would like to learn more about the GIFT and see how far it can go, so he let Chatterley step onto the front stage to control the body, and himself step aside watching.

Through Communication (X), Chatterley said to the huge snake: “Hi Mr. Serpent supreme, As soon as I saw you, I couldn't help overwhelmed by your domineering. I’d like to apologize for lacking of etiquette. As the saying goes, to err is human, to forgive, divine. Allow me to proper introduce myself. I am Chatterley, glad to be of your service. Would you kindly tell me who you are and where we are?”

The serpent's eyes narrowed into a line again, and he said, "Shhh... You can actually understand... and Shh...speak my language. It's funny... hiss...”

“Hiss...I Had many namesss...The lassst one hiss...Hydra. Hiss hiss... ‘Innerste’, the deepessst and mossst dangerous dungeon...”

Chatterley said: “Hydra! the name is thunderous. It’s such an honor to finally meet you! As the saying goes, seeing is believing. Now I understand the lagend is true except understating your majesty. Your presence makes it look like a palace. Since a little learning is a dangerous thing, could you please tell me more about you and this place?”

These two guys, one is a monster who had been trapped here alone for a long time, and the other is a person who had had a hard time finding anyone to gossip with, actually started to chat. Gunther Fett listened silently. From the endless talk of Chatterley and tireless repeated explanation of Hydra, he learned a lot of important information.

It turns out that this place was considered the most dangerous location in the world. A long time ago, it was originally one of the frontline base for the Evil King to butcher the world. It was built deep and complex, full of malicious trap and horrible monsters. After a deadlock with humans for quite some time, the degree of malice of the traps and the strength of monsters had increased dramatically. The structure had also become very unstable that it is not surprising when it collapses.

After countless lives have been martyred, this place had finally transformed into a real "dungeon", and Hydra, as the lord of the dungeon, or the "core", woke up from the abyss, and a large number of terrifying monsters suddenly appeared. It was so dangerous that even the Evil King had to abandon this base in the end.

"Fighting here, the sacrifices caused by the dungeon far exceeded the number of killed by the enemy." Said the Evil King.

After the withdrawal of the Evil King, only monsters inhabited here, especially multi-headed monsters that were rarely seen elsewhere. These monsters were known to have multiple heads and consciousnesses, so they can cope with multiple crises that occur at the same time. They used the shallow layers of the dungeon as their nests, preying outward when they are powerful, and retreating to their nests when they encounter raids. In the dungeon, they used traps, poison gases, and tunnels that might collapse at any time to deal with their enemies.

In the middle of the dungeon, the number of monsters decreased as their strength increased significantly. Adventurers who were capable to explore the area must not only face powerful monsters and unpredictable malicious environments, but also supply dilemmas. Food and water are trivial, and the air here was unbreathable for human beings. The deeper one went, the more serious the situation became.

The very bottom of the dungeon, where Gunther Fett was located, had no traps, no complicated and treacherous paths, and no major problems with water and air. There was only one threat here that went far beyond the sum of the above, the infamous Hydra. The reason why this was the most dangerous place in the world was also the reason why it's here.

There are gods in every world, who create and govern each world. In different worlds, different gods have different abilities and functions; But for the universe, all gods have an important task in common, which is to keep the soul circulating in the endless loop of transmigration. Therefore, any act of altering souls is an unforgivable sin. As long as it stays in the deepest pit in this world where no one can possible reach, they would turn a blind eye; But as long as he leaves this place, even just one scale out of the restrict area, ‘Create’, ‘Destruct’, ‘Confluence’ and ‘Variation’, the four main gods of the world will bring down the calamity, destroy every inch of its flesh until it falls back.

To short, Hydra was imprisoned here by the four main gods of the world.

Later, Chatterley said with teary eyes: "Just as the saying goes, The higher the mountain, the greater descent, Hydra bro, you REALLY have a bumpy life... If it would be me, I would probably have ended such misery by myself, and would never take it as easy as you..."

Hydra burst into tears and said, "Shhhh I am ssso glad that finally there’sss...someone who can underssstand what I’ve been through, bro. Now I may die wi...sss...out regret..."

Chatterley wiped his tears and said eagerly: "Hydra bro, why are you so down for? How can there be anything standing against your might and strength? As the saying goes, where there is a will, there’s a way. Let’s find a way out together and show them what we are truly made of!"

Gunther Fett found the conversation starting to go sideways and intended to interfere. But right at that moment, the entire environment vibrated. Gunther Fett looked up and saw the other eight large snakes. The nine snakes jointed together and shared a huge torso with a long spiky tail. The monster was much larger than Gunther Fett expected, and the nine heads were raised at the same time with intense rage.

“You are right, bro! let’sss ssshow them! Hisssss~~~~~” Hydra shouted.

A message appear in Gunther Fett’s mind, “Hydra intended to team up with you. Would you accept and make a covenant as team mates?”

Gunther Fett was surprised and wondering, “What’s this all about?”

The character named Dragon Emperor interjected in his mind: "According to my extended experience in Anime-Cartoon-Gaming, you should answer YES."

Gunther Fett sighed and replied “YES” in his mind. Then another message appeared, "The covenant between souls has been made. Details will be conducted according to the Code of World."

Hydra seemed to received the same message and shouted excitedly: “Hiss...Good, bro! get on and Let’sss begin!”

It lowered one of its heads right in front Gunther Fett while saying so. Gunther Fett had no choice other than jumping onto it.

Hydra screamed: “Hiss...UP!”

Hydra's tail slammed down, along with several heads breathing out gas just like jet engines. Gunther Fett felt a strong vibration, and then rose up quickly as Hydra's huge body started to soar. Hydra's heads continued to release breaths to destroy rocks above them and slaughter monsters along the way. Nothing can stop its upward trajectory, not even a little bit. Just like that, Hydra and Gunther Fett rushed out of the dungeon named ‘Innerste’.

However, just at the moment when they got out of the dungeon and saw the shimmering light from sky. Gunther Fett, whose vision was not affected by the rapid transition between light and dark because of the GIFT ‘Eyesight (X)', saw five huge fireballs wrapped with lightning and storm appear in the air, striking towards them. The next moment, before he could even warn Hydra, he could see nothing but  strong red lights, hear nothing but continuous explosion, and feel nothing but his body flipping like a leaf in the storm.

A few moments later, he felt that he was on solid ground again... with four of his limbs. The lights, explosions and shakings were all ceased to exist. He found himself standing in a vast and bottomless sinkhole, the walls of the crater were all scorched earth, and there was something like lava flowing and dripping.

A sound appeared in his mind, “Hiss...I...I can’t take it... anymore...hiss......RUN! Sssave yourssself...bro......”

Chatterley burst into tear and cried: “Hydra bro, I will never leave you alone! As the saying goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed, I will stay by your side!”

Hydra's fainted voice came, "Hiss...I’m O.K. I will recover after...hiss...another hundred year...hiss... thisss plasss hiss too dangerousss for you. Just go!"

While Chatterley was crying and reluctant to leave, Gunther Fett took control of the body and sent him to the backstage, where he was still sobbing and the shy girl was trying to comfort him.

The reason why Hydra had a near-death experience and Gunther Fett had not even a scratch is the GIFT ‘Substitute (X)’, which transfers 100% of the damage to team mates, if any. So all the disaster casted on them was borne by Hydra and stopped once Hydra fell back to the pit.

Gunther Fett thought: “I am so grateful that I picked up this GIFT!”

Then, a message appeared in his mind: “Engagement of battle is finished. 1,324,798,514 points of experiences gained.”

While Gunther Fett was still trying to figure it out, Dragon Emperor seemed to familiar with such kind of information and shouted excitedly: “Hahaha...that monster looks like a bloom and swept the dungeon clean! Look at that! 1.3 billion points of experiences! I’ll surely level up to the limit. Hahaha...”

Then came another message: “Your level has been elevated to 2.”

Hearing something taking a hard fall in the backstage, Gunther Fett wondering: “Level? Points of experience? Is this some sort of video game? How could this... never mind, It’s not the biggest problem right now.”

Suddenly, an alarm sounded in his mind. This was not a GIFT nor a message from the world. It is an instinct developed from his long term suffering. He knew better to run and hide. Since there is no where to hide in the crater, he activated GIFT obtained by the shy girl.

‘Shadowless (X): Being ignored like the one’s nose before one’s eyes.”

Gunther Fett recalled that when he tried to exchange opinion with other characters through a notebook, there were a few lines of extremely small and weak handwriting. He did not notice them until turning the pages several times and learned that they were written by the shy girl later. It is easy for Gunther Fett to understand why she suggested obtaining such GIFT, and to agree with her since he had been in some many occasions that he had wished to be ignored.

Right after he activated the GIFT, an UFO appeared in the sky and fly rapidly toward where Gunther Fett was standing.

The UFO looked way more advanced than any aircraft Gunther Fett had ever seen and didn’t get along with the ‘slightly primitive period of civilization’ the blonde goddess mentioned. Gunther Fett couldn't help but roast: “Where is the medieval century?”
