這首歌收錄在 1999 年的 Slim Shady LP，是 Em 的第一張錄音室大碟。在這張專輯裡可以感受到 Em 用 Slim Shady 把自己塑造成一個瘋狂痞子，這也跟簽下他的 Dr. Dre 是 gangsta rap 的代表人物有關，但這首歌是在 Em 尚未爆紅時寫的，所以這首 Rock Bottom 是以 Marshall Mathers 的角度寫的。
當時的他十分貧窮，生活不順，饒舌是他唯一的發洩出口，歌詞中展現了許多對生活的無奈與憤怒，這首歌是他在被餐廳開除後寫的，那時，再五天就是他的女兒 Hailie 的生日，他卻幾乎籌不出錢......
註釋:
1. Percocet 為處方用止痛藥，副作用會帶來快感，跟海洛因的藥效一樣強，會破壞神經系統。
2. half-pinters 蠻難翻，指內心深處善良，但在外表跟對話不下功夫而難察覺的人。
3. cess 好像是某種沒有其他添加物的吸食大麻。
4. shady 可以指靠不住、名聲不好，同時也是 Em 替自己取的小名 Slim Shady。
5. 2Pac 曾經與兩名警察發生槍戰，因為兩個警察正在找一個黑人司機的碴，於是 2Pac 上前制止便發生衝突。
6. RIAA 認證，美國唱片業協會基於專輯和單曲唱片的銷售量來認證的。金: 50萬銷量，白金: 100萬，鑽石: 1000萬。
這首歌是在 Em 成名前寫的，所以他的歌幾乎沒有什麼關注度，有趣的是他在成名之後的專輯皆得到了白金認證，目前還有兩張專輯、三張單曲得到鑽石認證。
第二彈~ 其實還蠻喜歡學校給這段時間做自己的事，雖然一個禮拜一節課真的少的可憐，但至少有啦，也能逼我準時交作品，不然之前說要做但一直拖，自己也覺得厭煩 = =
大概把 Em 的每張專輯都翻過一首了，剩 Encore 跟 MTBMB ，前者大概選好歌了，後者之後再慢慢選曲好了。
