1. vict 是來自拉丁文，有 conquer (征服) 的意思，這裡用 'vict'd 表示被動型。
2. 8 mile road 是在美國底特律的一條路，也是 Em 的老家，他以前住在拖車裡的生活十分窮苦，需要每天拼命工作才能勉強生活。
3. (看完電影後)正確的應該是指 Jimmy 的妹妹，他們倆人皆只剩下媽媽陪伴，沒見過親生父親。
4. crabs in the bucket 大概指人處在一個會互相扯後腿，無法前進的狀況。用情境比較好解釋，在水桶中，放入好幾隻螃蟹，每隻螃蟹都會盡力掙扎爬出桶外，但其他螃蟹卻會把爬得較高的螃蟹扯下來，於是所有螃蟹最終都無法成功脫逃。
5. 兔子腳被認為是一種幸運象徵，能作為護身符。同時電影中 Em 飾演的主角 Jimmy Smith 因為是白人，饒舌時用的名字是 B-Rabbit。
6. The Salvation Army，救世軍，以軍隊形式作為其架構，並以基督教作為信仰的國際性宗教及慈善公益組織，以街頭布道和慈善活動、社會服務著稱。人們會捐贈舊衣物給救世軍，而他們會將衣服作為給弱勢族群的救濟。
7. 同時指電影中主角及過去的 Em，都是在街頭試著闖出名聲的 battle rapper。
8. Detroit，底特律。在美國，尤其在電影出版的年代(2002)，底特律一直都不是一個特別好的城市，有著高犯罪率、高負債(2013 一度破產)、高失業率。
9. Leaders of the Free World 是電影中虛構的饒舌團體，與 Em 的饒舌團體 313 是競爭對手，313 同時是 8 mile 的地區區碼，跟台灣地區打電話到每個縣市要加 0X 一樣的意思。
這首歌收錄在電影 8 Mile 的電影原聲帶中，是與電影同名的 title song ，8 Mile 是 Eminem 的半自傳作品，在電影中他飾演 Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith Jr.，詮釋自己作為所謂的 white trash (沒錢地位低的白人)，住在拖車中，有著饒舌夢的他要怎麼在那黑人饒舌圈試著找到成功的出路。
很多人都聽過 Lose Yourself，但可能比較少人會聽過這首歌，同樣收錄在電影原聲帶中，但這首歌的神度可以說不劣於 Lose Yourself。這首歌敘述了電影的大略劇情，用完美的押韻、流暢的敘事，描寫一個白人想從困境逃出，靠著音樂成名的心路歷程，雖然我是沒有看過電影啦......抱歉......
這學期最後一次了，終於結束了~
這首歌是我翻過最長的一首，雖然不是太難翻，還好是他早期的作品，如果是現在的 Em 大概要耗兩、三倍時間，是說，我真的沒看過電影，因為沒什麼正版片源，只是偶然聽到這首歌覺得很神，之後有空的話會去找來看的。
