Can you remember any subject being taught in "the school" back then actually told you why to learn?
I can't think of any, there is not even a clue, a foundation, a background, a story, a discussion to discuss whether or not you should learn this, even after you accept that it's better to learn you still have to understand the meaning to learn a specific chapter, this version, this perspective, in this way or there are others way, all I had been known is, "they" just came and announce the thing then command you to do that to do what and follow the textbook then pass the tests so you are educated, is it?
Have you ever think about that why you stay there for a whole day?
Yeh, if not, you will get punishment so you got to follow, if you didn't do well as what they rule you, you will get the bitter and the humiliation, why there is no more options or questions? As a child, the most easy thing is to get abuse out of the lack of experience, better if you never think about why to them, not to ask any question to challenge them, the asking, to get a reasonable response from others is the power to challenge and toward the fact, the truth but not opinions.
They taught you to follow, follow the line, stay on the line, in a order, stand straight, close your mouth, open your mouth, just follow the rules or...who knows? You never know since you just follow so you will be fine, they made you to response in their favor, you had been train into a frog galvanoscope right? To make sure you made the right twitch, you have the brain but when the time come you are nothing but a leg, the learned helplessness.
