Reference: Derivative work of Blood Covered (Website can’t be found anymore)
I opened my eyes. This was not the room I was familiar with. I lay on a small lake of dried blood. The light that was embedded on the ceiling shined unstable.
“Where am I?” I whispered, but no one answered. I was supposed to go out with friends. Why?
I couldn’t figure out anything, so I decided to get out of here first. I walked out the door and there was a classroom. Looking back, the door that I was walking out has a sign on it: warehouse. It seemed like a school, but all the chairs and tables were smashed.
“Stella.” My name was called by an unknown voice, but I didn’t see anyone.
“Who’s there?” My voice echoed in the dark classroom.
A blue, gas-like thing suddenly appeared, with a smile without hostility, slowly approached me.
“A ghost? Stop right there!”
It suddenly stopped: “Seems like you don’t remember me.” The ghost — seemed like a male ghost, spoke softly: “But that’s ok, I still remember you.” Suddenly, he became a cloud of white fog, and then disappeared. There was a key dropped next to me, that’s what he left for me: 2A.
Everything felt strange and scary. “I must get out of here.” I thought.
I opened the door of Classroom 2A with the key. It seemed nothing special in this room, just the wall with shedding paint. I found a corner with a handle on the wall. It seemed like a hidden closet, with only one newspaper inside:
The Mystery of Hell Elementary School
On July 1st, there were three students reported missing, and three more on the next day (July 2nd). The missing incident kept happening. One year later, all the people from this school were reported missing, including teachers and the president. Two years from the first incident, all of their bodies were found at the Mountain of Death, except the following six students: Petram, Lac, Eruca, Gratias, and Larva.
“Hell Elementary School…” I heard my voice trembling a little. Was this school the Hell Elementary School? It was so quiet, as nobody exists for a long time.
“Ah —” A scream just hit in my ear.
“That was…Sakura! Where is she?” Sakura was one of the friends that I was supposed to go out with. I tried to find her in this school, but every door was locked. I anxiously opened the door that said “lobby.”
The light seemed not working anymore, that I couldn’t even see my hands. There were paper boxes everywhere with dried blood on them, but there was also blood moving slowly. With fear, I walked back a few steps, and then —
“Thud!” I hit something behind me that made me almost fall.
“Hey! Who just hit me!” A man’s voice came to me. I turned back, and the flashlight shined in my eyes.
“Nox?” I called.
“Stella? Thank God! I finally find a living person!” Nox sighed and smiled, but his eyebrows still squeezed together: “I heard Sakura’s scream. Let’s go find her quickly! Hope she is ok…”
“Well, do you have any key? The doors are all locked.”
“Yes.” Not took out a key with “Nurse” on it: “I just found it on the ground.”
We walked back to the school and walked up the stairs. Then, we saw a corpse that was waiting for us. It had wounds all over her body, the eyes were opened large, but the name card was new, as it wants to show clearly to people: Patram.
“It’s on the newspaper…”
“What? You know her?” Not asked.
“No…no, we should go now.”
“Oh…”
The lights of the nurse’s room were on, but we still didn’t see Sakura, until I opened a pink closet: “Ah…”
“What? Did you find something?” Not noticed my terrifying face.
“No…nothing.” This was the only word I could say, because I knew how much Nox loves Sakura. Sakura’s body was in the closet. She was cut into many pieces, the blood was flowing out. I quickly took out my handkerchief and wiped the blood, so that Nox wouldn’t saw it.
I picked up an old table lamp, and there was a key: Girl’s Bathroom.
“I found the key, let’s go.” I said with emotion.
“Good! Maybe Sakura is there!” Not got the key and ran out. My heart trembled. Sakura was already dead! There was no reason for us to keep finding, there was nothing we can do! But the only thing I could do was followed Nox. I tried so hard from crying. I want to go home, go back to my lovely home and hide in my bed, but I knew it was impossible.
“Stella.” Nox’s voice suddenly pulled me back: “I want to go to the bathroom.”
“Sure, I’ll check this place more.” I saw him going into the boy’s bathroom next door.
I opened the first door with my trembled hand — nothing happened. The same for the next door. Then I slowly opened the third door — no, I didn’t open it, because there was something behind it. I held the top of the door and climbed up — there was a corpse in the bathroom. Her hands were hug in front of her chest, seemed really calm. No! I removed her cloth, there was a big hole on her body, those hassle were removed, and the murderer left the girl’s name card inside: Lac.
“This is the third corpse I have seen today, sounds brave.” I tried to comfort myself, but it only made me more frustrated.
“Stella.”
I turned back, and there was the blue ghost.
“What’s the matter of you?” I tried to make myself act like I’m not afraid, but my body still shaken obviously.
“I came to tell you that there is an evil ghost in this school. He is good at camouflage, especially becoming the one you love, and then slowly devour your soul. You should be careful.”
“How can I trust you? You are also a ghost.”
“It doesn’t matter if you trust me or not, I’ll protect you anyway.”
“Then please tell me if there is an exit in this school.”
The blue ghost smiled gently — although I couldn’t see his face, I felt his smile: “Maybe there is one, or maybe there is not. You have to find out by yourself if you want to know the truth.” He then flied into the wall and disappeared.
Who is actually that blue ghost? He seemed really wanted to help me, but why? But also, his voice sounded familiar to me. As the same as last time, there was a key that he left for me: 4A.
“Ah — ”
“That’s Nox!” I ran to the boy’s bathroom, and Nox fell on the ground with fear.
I looked around to make sure there was nothing dangerous: “What’s wrong?” I calmed down and asked.
“There was a ghost over here!” Not talked really fast: “He said that Sakura is dead! In the nurse’s room! But we didn’t see her body! Right?”
“Ah…”
“That ghost is just lying to me! Right?”
“Nox…I’m sorry…” I was so afraid to look at his eyes: “He is right, but I know that you won’t take that, so…”
“ No…that’s not true!” Nox yelled: “I need to see her!”
“ No! It’s too dangerous to move separately!”
“ I need to see her!” Nox pushed me and ran out. I sighed. Nox usually smiled with happiness, but this was his first time being so lost.
I walked into Classroom 4A. This classroom was only a half large compared to the others, and there was even no tables or chairs in here, but only some rocks in the corner with some white powder on them. Seemed like someone was using drugs. However, not only the drugs were being covered, but also a corpse. Her body was uneven because of those rocks, the head bone was sunken. I couldn’t even see her as a human body, but the name card in her hand shined brilliantly: Eruca.
“ Eruca…another victim…”
Heavy footsteps sounded closer and closer, then Nox entered the room.
“ Nox…Ah!”
I felt painful from my leg, the blood flew out. I looked at Nox, and he looked back ferociously with a bloody ax in his hand.
“ Nox…you…”
“ Stella! We have to go with Sakura! We will never escape! This school has been cursed!”
“ Nox! You need to calm down!”
“ No…no!” Nox held up the ax. I really wanted to escape, but Nox was right at the door. “ It’s over…” I thought. However, I felt a cold wind came to me, then I nervously opened my eyes. It was the blue ghost!
“ I can only persist a few minutes! Go right now!”
“ Oh…oh…”
I ran away with my wound. Looking back, the blue ghost turned into an unknown creature, but I didn’t have time to observe more. All I thought was kept running, but also hope that Nox would be alright.
I couldn’t endure my pain eventually, so I sat down and rested on the hallway. This was Classroom 5A, and the door was locked, of course, and there was also no key when I looked around.
“ Are you ok?” A white, female ghost appeared in front of me. Just like the blue ghost, she was also gas-like.
“ Who are you?” I wanted to run away, but my wound couldn’t let me. The only thing that I could do was asking.
“ It doesn’t matter who I am. The only thing that matters now is your wound.” She flied towards me, and touched my wound softly. It was cold, but my heart felt warmer. I felt better, and I even forgot my pain. This was the first time I had this feeling since I was in this school.
I looked at her. She seemed worried about something, but I didn’t ask, because I kind of liked to stay with her right now.
“ I think I should keep searching.” I said, there was still wounds on my leg, but I wasn’t painful anymore.
“ Are you ok with that wound?” She asked.
“ I’m fine. Do you have the key?”
She pulled away a piece of wooden floor, and there was the key of Classroom 5A.
“ Are you coming?” I saw her staying on the hallway.
“ Yes.”
I opened the door. The thing that stayed in front of me almost collapsed me. I robbed my eyes unbelievably. That was not hallucination — It was Nox’s corpse.
“ Nox!” I ran towards him and couldn’t control my tears. There were some claw marks by an unknown creature on him, and this was the only complete part, the others were just the mud of meat. It reminded me of the blue ghost, who turned into an animal when he deal with Nox. I wanted to throw up and escape, but I didn’t, because this was the last time looking at him, my friend. I promised that I would tell all of your friends and family about you.
Good bye.
“ Let’s go, I don’t want to stay here anymore. Do you have another key?” I said.
“ I have the reference room’s key.”
I followed her to the reference room in the second floor. There were so many photo albums over here. There were photos from the opening day of the school to the students’. They all seemed happy and peaceful, which was really different from the school right now.
“ Oh! You are here!” I saw the blue ghost came.
“ Yes…”
“ Get out!” He yelled. I looked at him, and he seemed looking angry towards the white ghost, and she looked back with surprise.
“ What…what happened?” I asked nervously. I was shocked by the anger of the blue ghost.
“ Stella! She is that evil ghost! Get away from her!” He yelled.
“ No! I’m not the evil ghost! Please trust me!” Said the white ghost.
“ You are the evil one! I know Stella is going to trust me, right?” The blue ghost asked me, but he was actually filled with confidence, like he must have my trust.
Who should I trust? Both of them seemed wanted to help me, although the blue ghost kept saying that she was the evil ghost. Was she the evil ghost? She treated me so gently and friendly, and also… I was suspecting about the blue ghost of killing Nox.
“… Who killed Nox?” I tried to test a little, but my eyes stayed on the blue ghost.
“ Well… nobody killed him. I was fighting with him and he ran away, and then he fell down and was killed by the ax…”
“ No! You are lying! I saw the claw marks on his body!” I pointed at the blue ghost: “I don’t trust you! I would rather trust the white ghost!”
I hope… my choice would help me to escape from here.
“… Thank you…” The white ghost said softly, but I did hear that.
“ No! That can’t be happened!” The blue ghost started to scream: “Stella! Trust me! I’m Snow!”
Snow… The image of a white, little cat came to my mind. It was the cat that I used to play with, but it died few years ago.
“ Trust me! I know you love Snow the most!” He yelled.
“ I…” I got confused, because Snow used to be quiet, but this one?
I was stuck in my doubt, so I didn’t notice that the white ghost seemed sad.
“ Oh! You are Stella! I saw you destroying the school!” I saw a beautiful witch entered this room.
“ Who are you?” I asked.
“ I’m Lamia, and I’m the manager of this space.”
“ You are a witch, right? So, this is another world?”
“ What do you mean?” She smiled so elegant, but I felt my bones were freezing, then she saw the blue ghost was yelling: “Seems like you make him become crazy, so I need to let you leave. Ha ha ha!”
“ What? Ah…” A strong earthquake made me fell on the ground, and then my sight kept changing. Where would I be teleported to? “Wait… I… still have… questions…”
“ Ah…” I was hit hard on the ground. It seemed like lab here.
“ Stella, are you ok?” The white ghost asked.
“ You were kicked out too?”
“ Ah… Let’s stop that topic. Don’t you scared? You just met the evil ghost in this school.”
“ I’m fine! By the way… I never know your name?”
“ I’m… Luna.”
“Luna?” She felt so familiar to me… Did I meet her before?
“ Although I’m dead now, I am still older than you! I remember that I like to sit with a little girl and enjoy the sunshine.”
“ That was definitely a wonderful memory! I felt like I met someone like you before.”
“ Yeah! But she probably forgot me. But if she comes here one day, I hope I can help her to escape. I believe there must have an exit in here, right?”
“ Yeah! There must be a way out!”
Luna spoke happily with me, comforted my heart. Nox, Sakura, and all the people who died in this school, if I could get out of here, I would tell all your families about you!
I found the key of the faculty’s office under the table.
Luna and I went to the faculty’s office.
“ Why are you here?” I saw Lamia sat on the sofa.
“ I’m waiting for you.” She still smiled elegant: “I apologize for being so rude earlier, and I also think we need to talk together.”
“ What do we need to talk?”
“ You said you still have questions, but I think you need to show your passion more.”
“ Passion?”
“ Yes. I need some ‘ water with corpse smell.’ If you can get that, I’ll tell you what you want to know.”
“ Really?”
“ Of course. When you are done, just put that in the basement.” Lamia left after.
“ Lamia… should we trust her?” Luna suspected.
“ I don’t know.” I said: “ But I’ll try my best! You will also help me, right?”
“ Of course!”
I didn’t know why, but I felt so touched every time I was with Luna. It made me felt that there was nothing we couldn’t do.
I found a strange red stick in the office. It said “ Grudge in dark red” on it.
“ Go ahead!” Luna gave me a bucket of water with a really bad smell.
“ This is…”
“ The water with corpse smell! I got this when you were observing this room.”
“ Great! Let’s go to the basement!”
We put that in front of the basement door, and the door opened. There was only a gate in the center of the room, with a sign in front of it: The only of the space, please fill with grudge in dark red. There was a small groove on the sign. I placed the stick into the groove, and then the gate shined in white light.
“ I guess you have to leave.” Said Luna.
“ Don’t you want to come with me?”
“ No…” She said in a soft voice, so I couldn’t hear that. I felt her body changed a little, but I couldn’t how, so I stepped into the gate. I felt suddenly dizzy and closed my eyes, and my body was falling.
What I didn’t see is, Luna, the white ghost turned into a white cat, her feather shined like snow.
“ No… but we will meet again really soon.”
I opened my eyes. White… the smell of medicine… It’s the hospital.
“ Oh! Stella! You are awake!” It’s Sakura.
“ Ah… what happened?”
“ We got hit by a car. Damn it! Such a bad day!” Sakura sighs. Luckly, she didn’t get much hurt as I did.
“ Stella?” Nox enters the room with a wheel chair. I guess he breaks his leg.
I relieved. They are still alive…: “ Where’s Luna?”
“ Luna? Who’s that?” Asks Sakura.
“ Ah… never mind.”
“ Are you ok? Do you need the doctor?”
“ No! I’m fine.”
“ Fine! You know what? I just got a kitty! I’m still thinking of a name. Any suggestion?” She gives me the photo. The little kitty seems so familiar to me.
I smile. The memory in that school fades away, but I still remember Luna. Maybe… maybe I am the only one who has the memory with her.
“ Then call her… Luna.”
